2026 Power Strip recommendations

Hi,

There was a previous thread from 2023 on power strip recommendations. Now that we have Matter and Matter energy monitoring, I’m curious if there are any new recommendations. Ideally Matter/thread. I’ve identified one that may work, but unclear if the energy monitorng works with ST energy monioring. Does anyone know: Amazon.com: Tapo Smart Wi-Fi Power Strip, Matter, P316M, Energy Monitoring | Surge Protection, 6 Individually Controlled Outlets & 3 USB Ports, Works with Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri & Bixby : Electronics

All the official power strips are Matter over WiFi.

Some (like the Tapo you mentioned) do support Energy montoring but SmartThings requires specific implementation on its Matter driver to support it within SmartThings Energy. They just recently added GRILLPLATS support for instance. I’ve had good luck with GRILLPLATS on ST and HA. They are cheap enough that you could make your own “power strip” with them vs $50-$60 US for a 6 outlet strip.
