Blue Iris Trigger Question

I have decided to use Blue Iris for my IP cameras. I am using the Blue Iris Profile Integration Smart App and it works great. What I would like to be able to do is this. When my mode is set to Home I would like to trigger a Blue Iris camera to start recording based on an open sensor. For example, on my Front Door there is a door sensor, when that sensor trips to an open status I would like my internal Front Door camera to start recording. I am not sure if this is possible but I thought I would ask. Thanks! -Pat

@pmusselman can you please share the link for the blue iris smart appā€¦i tried searching and did not find it. Thanks!

This is the link that i used to get the code. https://github.com/pursual/smartthings. Copy the raw code and paste it into a new smart app. Works great!

After some research over at Cam-It I have figured how to manually trip the cameras in Blue Iris via http command (http://192.168.2.200:80/admin?camera=cam2&trigger&user=xxxxxxxx&pw=xxxxxxxx",5). I tested in a browser and it does work. It appears that there are also some other related Blue Iris settings, click here. Can someone tell me how I can get this into ST as trigger for my front door sensor? I have very limited coding experience but I am willing to give it a try. Thanks again.

Patrick, Iā€™m also attempting to get Smart Things to trigger a Blue Iris camera via http. Did you ever figure this out?

Just curious here, why set a trigger like this, and not just use the motion triggers in Blue Iris itself? That is how I manage recordingsā€¦

A http post to an end point within ST smart app should do the trick. I believe Blue Iris has a way to do web posts.Let me try it today. Will let you guys know how it goes.
