My family needed an easy way to turn SmartAlarm on and off and the thought of switching modes was a little confusing, since I use 5 modes depending on day/night and away/home, and I really want to use SmartTiles as the frontend for everything.
The easiest way I could think of was to have 3 buttons in SmartTiles (Alarm Arm, Alarm Disarm and Stay/Night mode). I created 3 virtual on/off switches (one for each mode/alarm setting) and 3 very crude smartapps to change the mode(s), taking into account sunrise and sunset. I also wanted the tiles to reflect the current alarm status if the mode was changed outside of SmartTiles, like thru presence detection. Here is what I have so far. Sorry about the crappy video, the buttons are on the top left starting with Alarm Disarm, then Alarm Arm and finally Alarm Stay.
I’m happy with it
EDIT: The pushbullet popups on my phone are the notifications of the alarm status change. The video is grainy
Let me know what you think:
